Kerala's weekly draws run every day, but the biggest prizes of the year come from the Bumper draws held around festivals and seasons.
The Bumper calendar
The Bumper line-up usually includes:
- Christmas–New Year Bumper
- Summer Bumper
- Vishu Bumper
- Monsoon Bumper
- Thiruvonam (Onam) Bumper — the largest of the year
- Pooja Bumper
Draw dates, ticket prices and prize structures are announced by the Kerala State Lotteries Department before each Bumper goes on sale, and they change from year to year.
The Thiruvonam Bumper
The Onam Bumper is Kerala's most popular draw. In recent years it has offered a first prize of ₹25 crore, with tickets priced at ₹500 and many second and third prizes. Tickets often sell out in the weeks before the draw.
