How the prize tiers work
Each draw has a first, second and third prize, consolation prizes for tickets that match the first-prize number in a different series, and several lower tiers decided by the last four digits of the ticket number. The full prize table for every draw is printed in the official result.
The Karunya connection
The name comes from the Karunya Benevolent Fund, a Kerala government scheme funded from lottery income. It helps patients from low-income families pay for treatment of serious illnesses such as cancer, kidney failure and heart disease. Patients apply through the scheme itself, not through lottery sellers.
